Our Facility
Here you will find a clean, comfortable kennel, open play yards, paths and walking areas. The kennel area consists of indoor runs that are climate controlled for year-round comfort for your pet. All runs are completely cleaned and disinfected, and always have fresh, clean water. Your pet will enjoy a daily walk around our property and be treated to free time in our play yards throughout the day to ensure that they have ample time to potty, exercise, and interact with the staff. Dogs are let out individually so that we can watch them closely and give them individual attention.
We welcome and encourage your inspection of our facilities. We are committed to operate and maintain our kennel with the highest standards of excellence for your pet.
What to Bring
Food:
It is best to keep your dog on the diet they are used to in order to reduce the stress on their digestive system, and avoid any gastrointestinal issues. Therefore, please bring your dog’s food in either individual ziploc bags containing each meal’s portion, or their bag/container with feeding instructions attached. Please make sure to bring enough food for your dog’s entire stay.If you forget to bring their food, or their stay is extended, a premium house food is available.
Please refrain from bringing food and water bowls as they are provided for your dog during their stay.
Treats and Toys:
You are welcome to bring treats and toys from home that you think will make your pet’s stay more comfortable. However, if your pet is not accustomed to having excessive treats, please do not bring them.
Medications:
We are happy to administer oral and topical medications, but they need to be ready to administer (pills cut in dosage needed, etc). Please note that we do not administer injected medications, nor are we able to give medications outside of our normal business hours.
If your dog enjoys cool food or treats, or has medication which must be refrigerated, we have plenty of refrigerator space for these items.
Vaccinations
All dogs are required to be current on their vaccinations (DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordetella). *We also recommend K9 Influenza.
Proof of vaccinations is required. All vaccinations must be done prior to boarding and may not expire during their stay.
Fleas
The staff at River Town Retrievers will give all our incoming dogs a once over before boarding to ensure they aren't bringing any unwelcome guests into our facilities. Should we find any of those pesky vermin on your dog, we will administer a Capstar pill to them for $5.00.
(Capstar is a pill that kills fleas within 30 minutes of ingestion. It is not a preventative; it only kills the fleas that are currently on your dog.)
