Our Facility
At River Town Retrievers, your dog will enjoy a clean, comfortable environment designed with their safety and happiness in mind. Our facility features climate-controlled indoor kennel runs for year-round comfort, along with spacious open play yards, walking paths, and exercise areas.
Each kennel run is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected daily and supplied with fresh, clean water at all times. Dogs receive daily walks around our property and multiple opportunities for supervised play yard time, giving them plenty of chances to potty, exercise, and enjoy interaction with our staff. For safety and personalized care, all dogs are let out individually so we can closely monitor them while providing one-on-one attention.
We welcome and encourage facility tours and inspections. Our commitment is simple — to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, care, and professionalism so you can feel confident leaving your pet with us.
What to Bring
Food
To help reduce stress on your dog’s digestive system and prevent gastrointestinal upset, we recommend keeping your pet on their regular diet during their stay. Please bring enough food for the entire visit, packaged either in individual Ziploc bags labeled by meal or in your dog’s food container with clear feeding instructions attached.
If food is forgotten or your dog’s stay is extended, we offer a premium house food as needed. Food and water bowls are provided by our facility, so there is no need to bring your own.
Treats & Toys
You are welcome to send treats and toys from home to help your dog feel more comfortable and relaxed. However, if your dog is not accustomed to frequent treats, we recommend limiting them to avoid stomach upset.
Medications
We are happy to administer oral and topical medications during your dog’s stay. All medications must be prepared and ready to administer (for example, pills pre-cut to the correct dosage). Please note that we are unable to administer injectable medications or provide medications outside of normal business hours.
For dogs requiring refrigerated food, treats, or medications, we have ample refrigerator space available to safely store these items.
Vaccinations
All dogs are required to be current on their vaccinations (DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordetella). We also recommend K9 Influenza.
Proof of vaccinations is required. All vaccinations must be done prior to boarding and may not expire during their stay.
Fleas
For the health and comfort of all dogs in our care, every guest receives a quick wellness and flea check upon arrival. This helps ensure that no unwanted pests are introduced into our facility.
If fleas are detected, a Capstar treatment will be administered at a cost of $5.00.
Capstar is an oral medication that begins killing fleas within approximately 30 minutes of ingestion. Please note that Capstar is not a preventative treatment — it eliminates only the fleas currently present on your dog at the time of administration.
